Black Hills Powwow - He Sapa Wacipi Na Oskate
Dew Bad Warrior-Ganje has served as Vice President of the Black Hills Powwow since 2010 and has been a dedicated volunteer with the powwow for more than 15 years. Working alongside the Black Hills Powwow Board of Directors, she helps guide the long-term vision, growth, and sustainability of one of the region’s most significant cultural celebrations.
In her leadership role, Dew oversees several cornerstone program areas that help shape the powwow experience each year. Her responsibilities include helping coordinate the Miss He Sapa Win – Black Hills Powwow Princess program, the former He Sapa Style Show, the Fine Arts Show, vendor relations and logistics, and Youth Day programming. These initiatives uplift Native artists, entrepreneurs, youth leaders, and culture bearers while creating space for intergenerational learning and celebration.
Dew plays a key role in building partnerships, supporting fundraising and sponsorship efforts, and helping ensure the powwow continues to grow while staying grounded in Lakota values, traditions, and community priorities. She is especially passionate about creating opportunities for youth and families to stay connected to culture through leadership development, arts, fashion, and community engagement.
Through her years of service, Dew has helped strengthen the powwow’s impact as a welcoming gathering space that celebrates identity, supports Native businesses and artists, and brings together communities from across the region and beyond.
"I have had the utmost honor to work alongside Mrs. Dew Bad Warrior-Ganje for the past decade. Thank you Dew for your fantastic energy and the drive you have to do so much for our people, this truly inspires so many, including myself."
